Russia is about to announce their newest annexation, and now we have politicians claiming any nuke attack on Ukraine is an attack on NATO.

How do I get off this clown world shit? All political parties in my country are all pro-war as well. Yet we're all suppose to die for some foreign country on the other side of the world? Did we not learn anything from the Afghan/Iraq nonsense?

I feel jealous for the 3rd world right now. But if Whitey gets nuked, they're probably going to starve to death anyway.

    Is leaving a military alliance really grounds for an invasion?

    I'm fine with being sanctioned/cut off etc whatever. Especially since my country (Canada) is already huge and has plenty of resources.

    It's having the Russian nukes pointed at me when I don't support either side, that pisses me off.

    Generally speaking, I don't care if Ukraine wants to resist Russia, since any country on the defense would do the same. That's a position I always hold regardless of who is right or wrong.

    But I never said I want to fight on their behalf or even get involved.

    Article XIII provides the mechanism by which a country withdraws from NATO;

    any country that wants to leave must send the United States a "notice of denunciation", which the U.S. would then pass on to the other countries in the alliance. After a one-year waiting period, the country that wants to leave would be out.

    The U.S is hell bent on sending billions of dollars to Ukraine every month. It's their new forever war, unless Putin does decide to push the button.
