The bill was passed through a unanimous consent motion by the House of Commons on Dec. 1 and the Senate on Dec. 7, after Conservatives who had opposed previous legislation on the subject embraced it.

Is Canada the most far-gone Western nation? Is there even an opposition?

law goes further than the previous two bills because it broadens the consent issue to protect both adults and minors, said Nicholas Schiavo, the executive director of No Conversion Canada, a nonprofit organization that lobbied to support the bill. “The intention behind the first two were good, but they left a loophole for adults to undergo conversion therapy,” he said. “They can’t consent to something fraudulent.”

I really will never understand how the left abandoned personal freedom so quickly. Obviously I understand why the elite did but the degree to which grassroots liberals embraced tyrany is shocking.

It's the single biggest issue that moved me from left to right. In 2015 the right was the only political platform attempting to stand for personal liberties. Which is so weird because 'liberalism' is literally about 'freedom' from all types of impositions on behavior. Today we are totally off script. Liberals argue for all types of laws and restrictions on thought and behavior. Conservatives do nothing but raise money from donors to get elected and then do nothing to stop the impending collapse of the country. Conservatives that do try to fix problems are quietly replaced or have their careers destroyed with the magical assault accusation of 'racism' or other ism. In the meantime the wealth, health and sanity of the middle class is being razed.

It's just raw real politik now.

Here in Canada we had a media-cultivated perception of our politicians as being particularly benign, for decades. In other words, Canadians hold that their politicians are just normal folk and not SERIOUSLY DERANGED POWER-TRIPPING MANIACS. As such, the political inanities of decades trained the sheeple to basically ignore the entire political sphere as a pure waste of time. And suddenly with Operation Lockstep, BAM! you have tyranny. The sheeple got blindsided.
