Jesus Christ also said about the Jews: John 8:44 "You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies."

That's not directed at Jews, especially since Jesus himself was one. These were simply evil people who were infiltrating Judaism, and Jesus corrects them when they claim to be God's children by Abraham's descent despite doing the devil's bidding.

He would have something very similar to say to most Christians who do the exact same thing.

You're wrong, but i know and respect your intention to relativize the facts. John 8:1 to 58, its all about a dialogue between Jesus Christ and Jews (Pharisees), that these were doubting Jesus, creating provocations and accusations. Like 8:6 "They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him." Pharisees plotting against Jesus, as to whether a woman should be stoned or not. 8:13 "The Pharisees challenged him (Jesus), Here you are, appearing as your own witness; your testimony is not valid.”

Pharisees, self-righteous hyper-religious legalists who saw themselves as superior. They were the fundies of Jesus's day. If it had anything to do with them being Jewish, Jesus and all his disciples would be condemning themselves, because they too are Jewish.
