Blacks act worse in court. Laughing and mocking their victims before a judge.

And of course, Asians are not imprisoned in White countries at disproportionate rates, so that's another "institutional racist" myth debunked.

They argue that the criminal justice systems in the US, UK, and other Western countries are institutionally racist.

They should see how Blacks act in their native countries. Jamaica is 99% black, yet has the highest homicide rate in the Western hemisphere.

Same with South Africa. What is racist about their justice system that Blacks still see themselves incarcerated more than the minority Whites when Apartheid ended?

The truth is, they commit a lot of crime, and never built 1st world civilizations to deal with it.

In Beaver et al. 2013 researchers compared criminal’s sentencing time after controlling for their verbal IQ and their self reported history of violence. They found that holding these variables constant completely eliminated the racial cap in sentencing.

Meta-analysis from 1998 finds that race is unrelated to criminal sentence length after controlling for offense type and prior criminal records (k = 47, n = 48,251).

This is a thing of the past. BLM during the riots and all were let out without bail. Jan 6 protesters still in jail. Kyle Rittenhouse's bail was 2 mill and that negro who brought a gun to school and shot several kids and a teacher in the back had a bail of 25k. The district attorney's are literally changing laws because black people refuse to follow them. Meanwhile blacks are taking advantage of it like with all the shoplifting that isn't a crime since they stole less than a thousand dollars worth of stuff.

yeah white people get harsher sentences. As usual the MSM lies about a topic.

Blacks also have much greater rates of recidivism

One needs to look at the criminal record, generally speaking I suspect the black has a long criminal history.

even after controlling for criminal history and other factors.

vox says this but then also says:

There could be other factors. As the Sentencing Commission acknowledges, it’s possible that its analysis could be missing variables — “because a particular factor is unknown, or because data about it is not readily available.” For example, the report doesn’t have data for employment history or family circumstances, both of which could influence a judge’s sentence. As a result, the commission said its report “should be interpreted with caution and should not be taken to suggest discrimination on the part of judges.”

Well go get all the data then vox. And don't put clickbait articles out meant to inflame tensions.

A big part of this has to do with drug crime and how it impacts black neighborhoods vs. white neighborhoods. The shorthand version is that black neighborhoods generally have "corners" while white neighborhoods have "dealers".

Dealers are discreet. You come to them, or they come to you. The transaction generally takes place indoors, or at least on private property, as does the drug use itself.

Corners are not discreet. Drug sales are conducted out in the open, in public. Drug use often happens nearby in public, as well. This has repercussions. Open-air drug markets attract prostitution, robberies, assaults, and the like. And corners become lucrative real estate in black neighborhoods. Gangs will fight over who gets to sell at a corner.

Of course, if you're an ordinary citizen, their drug corner is just your neighborhood, so the residents will pressure police to get the most violent offenders off the the streets. Prosecutors and police both understand this dynamic, and prosecutors will push for maximum sentences for specific individuals arrested for drug crimes near contested corners, in order to keep them off the streets, and keep violence down.

This is often called "enhanced prosecution", and you can read a decent introduction to it here. This article is about policing and prosecutorial practice during the years Vox's study covers, 2011-2016. Of course, in a post-Floyd world, this is all very controversial again, and one of the reasons you see violent crime numbers trending up.

In short, blacks who use drugs are more likely to buy, sell, and use them in public, which leads to gun violence and other assorted problems in the neighborhood. This is why they get arrested more, and why some have received higher sentences. Black drug crimes create more neighborhood consequences than white drug crimes.

Here in Chattanooga, TN the local judges tend to let the young black offenders out on low bail so they can go back to the hood and get shot Saturday Night. No fuss, no muss, no county jail, no trial. It's cheap and the county doesn't have to pay to feed or bury them.

They are criminals. They don’t learn from their mistakes.
