Big civ fan here too. Been playing since the very first one and sunk way too many hours into that game. Have you played humankind? Was maybe going to have a look if it comes on sale.

Between Civ5 and Civ6 I have about 5700 hours in, and probably at least as many in the previous iterations. Took me a while, though, to warm up to the climate change DLC, although I did finally get it.

Humankind looks interesting, but haven't looked too closely because of the whiffs of SJW leftism I've detected. Depends on the levels, I suppose. But I could wait a few years on getting a new game. There are only so many hours in a day, and I'm already only able to squeeze in a fraction of the gaming I'd like to be doing.
