What IQ would you suggest is good for attempting to become an engineer?

Those charts can be slightly off if you're a rare person that's really high on spatial/math IQ but low on verbal. You might be a great engineer and have low verbal intelligence scores but high spatial/mathematic scores. In general though most people scores that don't have extreme variance. The only reason many engineers seem retarded in reading and writing is because they don't focus on it in college not because they are low in those areas intelligence wise.

From my experience, a score of 50 gets you a job in mechanical engineering.
