He's sounding pretty forlorn in that thread. Said a lot about not having a community he can connect with.

My speculation is he set up Saidit for that, but maybe he's overwhelmed with being the chief cook and bottle washer to the users here, which would explain why we don't see much of him.

If that's the case, kudos to him for creating the kind of site that can facilitate the kinds of conversations he was looking for, even if he can't enjoy them.

He used to post a bit more. Back when derr was also around.

The site has changed a lot, for better and for worse. It's definitely different than it was a few years ago.

Hello there.

It probably is you, I've no clue.

While the faces behind the iterative name changes might be the same for D3rr, AmericanMuskrat, or socks, the feeling of the site has changed, and to me it just feels like over the years these were like key points.

It's just how it is, the people in my neighborhood are different now compared to 2019 as well( although none of them moved out and moved back in under a different name, but I do know some that moved into a bigger home so maybe it's the same)

Lots more reddit refugees here since then, and not nearly as many site outages.

Yes, lots more refugees and many are really good contributors. We've lost that village vibe from before and changed to more of a small city vibe where it's not possible to know everyone. I expect D3rr is still here some of the time under a different name but I'm not him. The good thing is that users are still civil to each other most of the time (except on chat 😆).

/u/magnora7 completely failed to do anything about chat which has been vile with asstrolls for a year and a half, loosened the rules wide up for them to infect and slide the forum, and folks still wonder why Saddit has gone to shit? Yes, he's around but not very much anymore because asstroll Musky was abusive to him too.
