When I was 17 my gf was 36. I don't think she was a pedo, just immature. It wasn't that uncommon back 20 years ago to lose your virginity at 14-16 (I was a late bloomer lol) to an 18+ yr old, still legal most places too if the age difference is within 2 years. It was frowned upon but it wasn't lumped in with pedos back then.

You realise the psychological definition of paedophile is people who are exclusively attracted to kids, right?

That I think is a far better definition than just going by ages, due to relative age differences/maturity levels.

It's more that you're kind of dumb at that age. While your thoughts were "muh benis", her thoughts should have been acknowledging that you pretty much only have that to offer, and that it's kind of shitty to go after dick that barely has a driver's license, much less the ability to deal with the possibility of potential pregnancy. She had an open sea of dick to choose, and went for a developmental brainlet. That says a lot about her character, man. You were nearly at the age to buy smokes and join the military at that point, she could have at very least waited another year.

I mean, I can't chastise you for shit that happened in the past. You're an adult man now and were on the opposite end of the whole thing, being the younger in the situation. I was just trying to explain "the bad" of things. If that was genuinely a positive experience for you, then you're likely an outlier and I'm at least glad to see that no one was hurt. There's cases like that out there where it's genuine and not just someone being gross and manipulative to get teen ass and/or while they're young and do whatever they want, but the shittier cases end up being more common in the long run. It's just kinda generally a good thing to have laws in place to keep it in check.

There's people out there who predate young people. The problem is, we're blurring the lines between predators and stupid kids and people in love. I think calling a 15yr old who has sex with an 18yr old a sexual crime hurts all of us when we have real sexual predators out there. Some people are just trying to make a buck prosecuting predominantly poor people. They aren't the only ones doing it but they're the only ones getting persecuted by it.

When I was 17 my gf was 14. She lied and said she was 15. I only found out when we got caught and her mom called my mom to complain. I had another 14 year old too, later that year, knowing. I was horny and they were willing. I wouldn't call it a mistake, but I would call much of my youth life very cringe. I'm an editor/animator, not a performer. With do-overs I'm quite sure I could do much better.

A similar thing got my nephew (by marriage although I love the kid) in a lot of trouble. He and his gf were just short of the Romeo and Juliet laws, and even though the families didn't want it the state insisted on basically extorting the families involved for money.

Although there is a group of pedos here on SaidIt and fuck those guys.
