Group enforced ignorance. College has literally become a cult.

People who accuse others of fragility are just projecting. Most young people have low self esteem and cry when they experience the slightest social exclusion, they think full grown adults in minority groups are the same.

Most students don't have to work jobs to keep a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs, or food in their stomachs. Their campus communism typically comes to a close 90 days after the semester is completed and the feds start asking for their money back.

Making campuses and echo chamber one day at a time.

"Another curious fact is that, in the vast majority of cases, students of Democratic tendencies were much more reluctant to accept controversial speakers than those of Republican tendencies."

No suprises here.

Some years ago, on a well known liberal campus ( I think it was either Oberlin or wesleyan ) the weather turned unseasonably cold , and a female undergrad , her coats still boxed up, took a white blanket from her bed and wrapped herself up in it for warmth. A young woman wrapped in a white blanket wandering about campus turned into a ku klux klan rally. How did the college-age men and women, people as old as if not older than the soldiers of the revolution, of the civil war, of world war II, respond to that rumor-? By standing in circles, arms wrapped about each other's shoulders, sobbing. Grown-ass men and women confronted with the mere thought of people with differing and hence obnoxious opinions, and all these mental and emotional perpetual children can do is stand in a circle, helplessly sobbing. This happened in the last GWB-first BHO administration, 2005ish-2010ish, somewhere in there.

Most students would as well support partying instead of studying.

This intolerance is promoted by campus faculty which is sad since college is supposed to be an institution of learning. So, what have they become? Cash businesses for the elite and breeding grounds for Cultural Marxism

Even Nobel Prize winners have been rejected and as Anika says, it's often Democrats and Leftists who are eager to ban. That is a tenet of leftist education: if you don't agree don't go to see him/her speak and don't let anyone else. Mao said, "Let the thousand flowers bloom," and I'm assuming he is still considered to be on the left, so far he might fall off the edge.

Leftists attack James D. Watson in 2011. This happened at Patra University, Greece.

Thank You. I did not know of this incident. What was their disagreement with [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Watson](Dr. Watson)? I am guessing that the problem was religious in nature. BTW until I read about him just now I did not even know he was an American. I always wrongly assumed that because Watson & Crick worked together at Cambridge, they were both from the U.K.

You might like to also read about William Shockley one of three scientists to be awarded the 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics for their work on semiconductors and transistors. The linked article explains his controversial later career, his opinions on eugenics and on alleged IQ differences among races. He had been a popular speaker on campuses but: "At the time of his death, he was almost completely estranged from most of his friends and family, except his second wife, the former Emmy Lanning (1913–2007)."

Dr. Watson was invited to give a lecture, which should be a great honour for this third-rate university. However, leftist students claimed he was "racist" and organized this attack with wooden poles. If they hadn't been stopped, they would have probably injured him seriously or even worse.

This has been a routine in Greek "universities", with leftists terrorizing everyone. Yet, the state has done nothing to address the issue during the 50 years this is happening. It's similar to the Years of Lead in Italy.

Thanks for that. How could a lecture on DNA (I suppose that was his subject) be racist? You don't have to explain since the logic of leftists nowadays is so twisted. Again, thanks.

So, most 'students' are seemingly 'stoopid'..?

[–]Fitter_Happier 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

TIL most students are idiots. George Lincoln Rockwell was able to speak freely with a polite audience at top universities like UCLA.

All paid speakers should be banned from campus.

[–]SaidOverRed 2 insightful - 6 fun2 insightful - 5 fun3 insightful - 6 fun -  (0 children)

Including the professors. They can come, but not if they are paid to be there.
