Their strategy is a bit like a Nigerian scam.

After they have built a large enough user base, they make their product shittier and shittier so that the only people left are gullible idiots

It is then that they go in for the kill. They raise their subscription fees, show ads every two seconds, and their customers just keep paying until their bank accounts are drained dry.

yeah or a MLM. Some youtubers used to make decent careers but lost a lot of that in the adpocalypse now most really can't make much money off it, they have a little income from patreon or ads for things they put themselves in the middle of their videos. I do some youtube videos but not for a living just for fun.
