Probably because none of the signatories had any idea who the fuck this guy is or what he got in trouble for. Do you have links to any of these people condemning him? If not it isn't hypocrisy.

It was a huge story at the time. He was widely condemned and when he was convicted a large cheer went up. Humorlessness is an important feature of Puritanism.

They are not in favor of free speech. They are only in favor of their own speech. There's a huge difference. None of this was a problem until they themselves were personally threatened by it.

Cite examples of the right censoring the left. The overwhelming majority of calls for censorship are coming from the left not the right.
