Bandcamp, an online music store and community with more than five million artists and labels was founded in 2007 and acquired by Fortnite developer Epic Games in March last year. It is renowned for supporting underground music by letting fans buy downloads and physical media direct from artists and labels, with Bandcamp taking a small fee.

Are you familiar with any of the Bandcamp groups?

I had never heard of either group.

I'm guessing songtradr will buy up the competition, and then raise rates. The usual monopolist scam.

From the wiki article they've added 7 aqusitions since 2019.

Songtradr is an automated music licensing marketplace

What Bandcamp groups are you referring to? If you mean the artists on Bandcamp, I've bought quite a few albums on there. If you're talking about the parent companies, I'm familiar with Epic games but not Songtradr.

Bandcamp offers a higher cut to the artist than most other digital platforms, and is one of the few that offer DRM free files for download. If they shut down or go anti-consumer it'll be a real bummer.

Sounds like a great company.

I'm disappointed that I hadn't heard of them.

Technical staff or diversity officers?
