I am rereading Joan Didion. Play It As It Lays is a lovely novel and The White Album is a book of superb essays about the era when Charles Manson was convicted of something even though he was not even present the night of the "Manson" Murders. Didion died this past December.

Never had the luck to read it. I may give it a shot. Thanks

It's about a young woman going through an existential crisis in LA. Life in the city is portrayed as meaningless. Didion has admitted that it is very much about her own life. It.s short and painless.
