    Stephen King says in his book on how to write that he was specifically told not to use adverbs when he started writing. It wasn't a natural thing for him.

    Admittedly, I'm not a writer by trade, but honestly I don't think -ly words really matter much.

    Either you have compelling content and style or you don't.
