Good explanation of the issues with calling any part of this field "AI".

With this part of the conclusion being particularly pertinent:

My tendency these days is to try to use the term “machine learning” rather than AI when it’s appropriate, hoping to avoid both the hype and allergic reactions that “AI” now produces.

The term "AI" has now been taken over by marketing departments, so even the debates about how to define intelligence are pretty much meaningless because this isn't even what it applies to anymore.
