We're almost there now. My son had an old barn blow down by a small tornado, then, about 10 months later, he had a few shingles blow off of his house roof. The barn paid out at like $15,000 and the shingle claim was like $1200. He just found out that his policy won't renew because he had 2 claims in a year. The agent told him he should have paid the shingle claim out of pocket after the fact. My son asked, "why didn't you tell me?" No response. He went to another insurance company and they told him the same thing. His current policy expires in May and after that he's screwed. And this is in Ohio. He'll probably find insurance but the premiums will be out the roof. 2 acts of god, things he couldn't control and they treated him like a multiple DUI offender. I've had my insurance with the same broker for 50 years and I never heard of this before. It's like you get one strike but the second one will get you cancelled. I think they're forcing people to pay smaller claims out of pocket in order to keep insurance for the "big one". These bloodsuckers are no better if not worse than our so called health insurance in this country,
