I have a small amount of credit card debt that will be cleared up in a few months. The majority of what I put on the card is for grocery shopping and dining out. The cost has risen exponentially and definitely impacts how you budget. Because our healthcare costs are so grotesque, I try and eat healthy to counter that greed complex only to have my wealth impacted by another.

It's okay, CNN understands you just have a messed-up psyche.

Another question - does anyone else here think that the 5.7 percent figure is vastly understating the real numbers? I take a look at grocery bills and this doesn't pass the smell test. I think that the number is in the double digit figures.

It is absolutely understated. I'm told, through relatives, that a number of food stuffs have double in price. For example, Milk that was ~0.75 is now ~1.6. Rice that was around 11.4 is now ~21.3, etc.. At least toward 100% for many items.

Drastically so- Even if they have curated the F out of what is listed AND only gone with bulk pricing per or major discount groceries.

I am a champion best prices for quality good and fresh foods shopper, and I have some competing excellent options in my city...

Where much locally available produce dairy meat etc have volume to spare.

And the prices have spiked easily 50% best case scenarios.

For much of the basic staple groceries in season the prices are up 100% year over year, some even more.

John Williams (Shadowstats) has been saying it's around 14-16% for some time now.

This can't possibly be true. Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act, which saved us all.

The sad part is that the ruling class doesn't care. If anything, they are going to make it worse by fueling Greedflation and collecting the capital gains.
