This really captures how I feel about how I spend the limited time I have left on earth:

It maybe that the night will close over us in the end, but I believe that morning will come again.

Morning always grows again out of the darkness, though maybe not for the people who saw the sun go down.

We are the lantern bearers, my friend; for us to keep something burning, to carry what light we can into the darkness and the wind. ~ Rosemary Sutcliff

Things are out of balance right now; whatever we do there will be a correction. You must surround yourself with beautiful things, stay fit, and never give up. Be worthy of your ancestors, no few of them dealt with worse.

they try to demoralise you by forcing you to adopt a narrow immediate perspective. Maybe we never see victory, only our grandchildren get to win. It doesn’t matter, we’ll always be here, we’ll never go away. That’s the only thing for which we can be held to account.

It's kind of selfishly motivated but we do what we can.

"Let you fear nothing! Another judgment waits us all!"

"Surely it is the man unjustly put to death who is pitiable and wretched."

"Less so than his slayer, Polus, and less than he who is put to death justly."

"Let the lie come into the world; let it even triumph. But not through me."
