Isn't it odd that articles about EVs from OilPrice.com are always anti-EV? :-)

It's takes tremendous amounts petroleum to design. manufacture and ship EVs. Petroleum producers benefit from either consumption from electric and combustion based vehicles.

I estimate that the design, manufacturing, and shipping costs are about the same. IMO petrol vehicles are mostly cheaper because they're manufactured in larger quantities. Batteries are still pretty expensive, but the cost is going to plummet as new technologies are developed. The simplicity of an EV over a modern petrol engine means they'll win in the long run.

JMO/YMMV

They're former true believers. Electric cars were the future.

But now they're jaded by the fact that climate change (CC) is a hoax.

This is just laughably presumptuous. The UK's energy infrastructure is hot fucking trash. That is what the article is about. The petroleum industry wins no matter what they drive as long as they continue to consume products.

Not always. They've posted articles before as to how well Asians are doing and how far they are ahead at making EVs.

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Asia-Surges-Ahead-In-The-Global-EV-Race.html

China has long been leading in EV production, which has encouraged a rapid rise in the regional uptake of EVs. In line with consumer interest in a shift away from ICE vehicles to EVs, public and private companies across Asia are looking to quickly develop the region's EV infrastructure. Green policies, as well as tax breaks and other incentives, have been extremely useful in encouraging EV manufacturing and the consumer uptake of EVs, making the region highly competitive in the global EV market.

That doesn't sound hostile.

Thank you for the correction. I was relying on my own recollection of OilPrice.com headlines.

Oil price naturally tends to lean pro oil, but to their credit they have been willing to publish articles that they think are truthful and pro EV.

I don't always agree with their political editorials, but at least they are willing to consider out of mainstream opinions.

As it stands, it is looking like electricity is going to be a lot more expensive than before and this is going to backfire badly for the working class. The UK chose economic self destruction when they sanctioned Russia.

It also didn't help they Brexited off a fucking cliff. They were under an mandate to get better trade conditions that they promised U.K. citizens. They bluffed. U.K. citizens called their bluff. These buffoons had to eat a buffet of crow and nobody paid a price besides UK citizens.

When the UK is governed by clowns, everything becomes a circus.

That's fair. The rich in the US are calling the shots here.
