The working class in the EU won’t be too happy with America when they realize how badly we’ve screwed them over in an effort to hold onto our collapsing empire.

I suppose it shouldn’t come as a surprise since there has never been any admission that the economic playbook followed by Brussels and Italian elites has failed.

And what happens when Italy’s problems increasingly begin to be experienced by much of the EU? The European elites won’t like the answer, as detailed by The Political Costs of Austerity:

Remember when Scottish-American political economist Mark Blythe predicted that Trump would win in 2016 when everyone expected him to lose? What's happening in Europe now, with the criminal economic policies that are wiping out the jobs and financial security of working class people, is exactly why Trump won.

As Blythe pointed out in one panel discussion, the amount of the bonuses - not regular compensation, but bonuses - that the Wall Street execs who caused the 2008 crash got that year was equal to what the entire minimum wage sector earned in a year.

These people are vampires.

The issue here is that the ruling class in the EU has chosen to sacrifice the living standards of its own citizens in favour of US geopolitical goals. This is going to go down as a major mistake and may very well turn the European nations into an economic backwater.
