Many saw it, as it was one of the very few movies with a different kind of story, partially available in December, and widely available in January and after digital release at the end of February. It's not an excellent movie, but at least it's thought-provoking, and well produced, directed, acted, shot, &c, which is more than one can say about 99% of what Hollywood produces. I saw it, it was a great movie.

Her creator doesn't want her having sex, she starts masturbating with a cucumber at the dinner table, they can't stop her, and so his solution is to marry her off to his assistant because he's a nice guy, but she runs off with a shady lawyer instead who doesn't know she has the mind of a child. Later they have a falling out and she becomes a prostitute to support herself.

The idea of having kids watch their father bang a prostitute to learn about sex is messed up, but it's not a concept novel to this book/movie.
