a fan guard would cost what, about $5, which is probably about $4 more than the guy that got minced. I'm sure management is pissed off about the damage to the fan more than the dude dying.

Like, I totally get that this could have been prevented by a fan guard (or training your workers to at least be conscious of things that could kill them)...

... But what was this dumbass trying to accomplish? "Oh, lemme just step directly in front of this very dangerous machine and lean right back into it." It looks like he was trying to move some sort of pallet jack, but he literally just backed right into the fan as he was turning it. In that second angle, you can even tell that he didn't even lose his footing or trip on anything until he backed directly into the choppy-bits of the fan. I'm not saying anyone deserves to be killed by their own stupidity, but this guy most certainly was killed by his own stupidity (Lack of safe working conditions notwithstanding).
