I wonder what made the guy decide to perform that stunt. Normally, people wouldn't get involved with obviously dangerous activities. Peer pressure? Trying to get social media approval? Unfortunately, he has become the star of a death video, definitely not the kind of social approval that you'd want to get.

Not entirely true.

Indian trains can sometimes get overcrowded like all hell. So people started hanging even on the sides. These would dodge poles etc. and become increasingly proficient at this. Naturally in any group of males- and egos they started showing off tricks and whatnot like slapping signs etc. so a culture grew up around filming these. Anything that gets popular videocontent will have people wanting to make a living on it.

Idiocy here is he evidently hadn't scouted the actual track, or underestimated the width of the train. Either way stupid games stupid prizes.
