The US is seeking to deter Iran from carrying out a retaliatory strike against Israel with concerted declarations of commitment to Israeli security, while at the same time trying to prevent the outbreak of a major regional war, officials in Washington have said.

If any Iranian attack causes significant Israeli casualties either on Israeli soil or at any Israeli mission or institution abroad, however, Israel would be entitled to a forceful response in the eyes of the administration.

The head of US Central Command, Gen Michael E Kurilla, arrived in Israel on Thursday, Pentagon spokesperson Major General Pat Ryder told journalists, reportedly to coordinate the response to the anticipated Iranian action with his Israeli counterparts.

Israel would be entitled to a forceful response in the eyes of the administration.

At some point you just have to accept retaliation or endless escalation.

Sounds like the US admin is letting it be known that a symbolic attack would be understood and forgiven but it can't cost too dearly.

Biden's liberal base is largely pro-Palestinian. This is quite the tightrope between the US's masters and his supporters. There's been talk Biden has been trying to get Israel to slow its roll. He'd end up sacrificing the election in order to go to war on Israel's behalf.

The one bad thing if Trump wins is he's a yuuuge cuck for Israel.
