The problem is the Ukranian people are blinded by nationalism. What they fail to realize is, they are being used as a tool by western globalists who want to get their greedy hands on the trillions of dollars of natural reources in the Donbass.

The globalist terrorist enforcement, AKA the CIA realized they could weaponize those violent neo-nazi thugs that they recruited from the Ukrainian "ultras" for the Euromaiden coup. They could utilize their love of violence and train them to turn that into hatred for the ethnic Russians in Donbass. Then all they needed to do is arm them and let them loose that they would wage a terror campaign against the Donbass and run the ethnic Russians out of Ukraine. Then the globalist corporations would move in and pillage the spoils of war.

That is what it was always all about and I think if the Ukrainian people would ever wake up to that, they might have a very different opinion of the western globalists that are flooding their country with weapons
