It sounds like the security guard was a "Syrian national". This just makes it even more of a facepalm to me. South Africa is basically a 1st world country. (Maybe like 1.5 world) But effectively as well off as some European countries. So you get this south African who shows up to Germany seeking asylum but gets denied. Honestly rightfully so by Germany because south Africa isn't even that bad. Then you have a Syrian refugee who likely escaped a legitimate hell on earth and who gets a job as a security guard trying to protect other refugees. He does all this only to be stabbed by some raging lunatic who is freaking out over imagined self inflicted oppression.
