The whole idea of gender identity is even more strange in countries where they have gendered language. For a time the fad seemed somewhat isolated to the anglosphere but there was always this weird connection to Spanish speaking people in the US since we have a very conservative and right wing immigrant population who use gendered language in the US but also have the same type of trans mindset you would get from Pat Robertson or Iran etc... In the US we always would see this play out as a weird attempt to shoehorn in the gender neutral language of English with the TRA ideology onto a Latino population. You get these white Liberals mixed with 2nd and 3rd generation Latinos in universities trying to insist that we had to say weird contrived gender neutral Spanish words like "Latinx" or change the ending of words from "-a, -o" to "-e" to which actual Latinos and Spanish speakers laughed at for multiple reasons.

But then the TRA ideology infects other countries and it's actually really tough for me to understand how this is playing out in say Spain, for example. I barely understand some Spanish and also don't understand their culture BUT Spain is quite European so they probably have their own similar neoliberal elite class trying to top-down enforce this stuff. I'm just curious if the regular ruling elite there actually falls for the TRAification of Spanish the same way Americans do. We don't speak Spanish so when experts start telling everyone "You need to say Latinx" many people just accept it as true. I want to know if Spanish speaking countries have more or less tolerance for this stuff than English speaking countries.
