Usually not. Best case is that someone with a deep pocket slandered the person so badly that the victim gets a payday.

Remember, woke types aren’t woke because they believe in truth above all else. They are woke because they see it as a way to gain power, status etc.

They don’t punish their victims because they think they are “wrong”. They punish them because they believe they were being disobedient by challenging the prevailing wisdom.

So... these people DO value obedience?

I thought woke was about radical moral autonomy. No obedience to parents, superiors or God. Absolutely none to common decency or anything except your base sexual desires.

it's the "nonconformist paradox": a girl with a nose ring and green hair will absolutely have bog-standard, completely predictable views; nor is it limited to any one subculture, the Free Individualist Voluntary Meeting will be excommunicating itself over an argument about pp. 3,350-58 of The Authorized Collection of the Shopping Lists of Ayn Rand, Vol. VI (1958-62)

Muggeridge quoted Chesterton as saying "When men choose not to believe in God, they do not thereafter believe in nothing, they then become capable of believing in anything," but it's materially tied to the massive shift in culture that happened in Victorian Britain, when all the villages emptied out to the smoking chimneys of London and North Britian

so the foaming r/atheist who'll rant at how "da Pope would have you executed for learning to read to cover up that they caused the Black Death in 1200 and they destroyed all evidence MAN!" the dotty fundie who thinks America has to burn to Jordan can conquer the Middle East so Jesus can come back in 1981, and their teenager pursuing "magick" from a book written in 1949 to rebel against them are all part of the same historical process
