The mod actually posted a good explanation. Basically reddit is so ideologically bent in favor of TRA ideology that the mods need to be very ban heavy on that topic or the reddit admins will come lock the sub or ban the mods. It's pretty obvious that happens considering we are here on saiddit but it points out many mods are not ideologically bent but are trying to keep their sub from getting banned.

I modded an alt sub for a while. We put in some effort to try to appease the mods but we were always doomed to get shut down. I don't know how someone who isn't woke could mod a sub there for 7 years. They must really believe in the cause of staying on Reddit.

Some people just want to browse a subreddit about gardening or tech. I'm sure the mods of a Linux sub don't mind swatting every thread even tangentially related to politics.

Unfortunately reddit is becoming better as a source of information than Google in many cases. There's so many god damn bots that have figured out how to push their results to the top of a Google search but the results are like "top 10 X of 2024" and it basically an advertisement for some products with ads layered on top. Like if I am looking for info on a specific Nvidia driver for example reddit ends up being more helpful than Google BUT the funny part is the reddit search feature is ass so you need to Google a reddit search to hit the results.
