I think the young staff have played that card too much that it doesn't work so well anymore.

"I don't feel safe because someone accidentally called me she instead of he."

"What sorry I couldn't hear you over my worries about inflation and the rising cost of groceries."

"I don't feel safe at work because a 90 year old lady called me sir!"

"Oh ok, well I guess you're pretty sensitive then, why don't you quit?"
