There's a huge difference between SSRI's having sexual side effects while on them and those side effects persisting after stopping the drugs. Also a lot of SSRI's just make it hard to orgasm but that goes away when you stop taking them. PSSD is different and way worse. Also there's no such thing as a chemical imbalance in the brain, thats just a lie pushed by big pharma. Maybe we shouldnt be castrating people in the name of big pharmas financial gain? Seems uh, kinda degenerate.

Side note, psychiatrists will prescribe drugs unprompted after like one 20 minute meeting with you, and it doesn't even matter how temporary your problem is, or whether it can be addressed in healthier ways, they will want to put you on drugs.

Chemical imbalance, lie or not, just means low availability of serotonin/neurotransmitters. And the function of SSRIs is to correct that by making more serotonin available to the brain. In many cases it works and turns once dysfunctional people into functional people. And in many other cases it can do the opposite. PSSD is the least of it really. The list of things that can go wrong is lone and insane and it's all documented.

Taking SSRIs is a huge risk that should only be reserved for cases where therapy and other treatment options have failed. And that's my point. It's up to you, the individual, to thoroughly research any medication you are going to be ingesting so you can fully understand the risks and make an informed decision. Doctors are supposed to explain that shit to you but odds are they won't. At the end of the day, your health is your responsibility, nobody else's.

You're not making a point, you just think you are. PSSD is the worst SSRI side effect, because it's permanent, even after the cessation of the drug. You even admit there should be informed consent for a drug that CAN LITEARLLY PERMANENTLY SEXUALLY AND EMOTIONALLY CASTRATE YOU, and yet there's not. Even if you were to "do your own research," there's a good chance you wouldn't find out about PSSD. It's not like it's listed as the number one potential side effect. Big pharma obviously has a vested interest in not acknowledging it. Are you a libertarian or ancap by chance?

I've made plenty of points you've perhaps just missed them. Anyway, "worst side-effect" is subjective. It depends on how important you think sex is. To some people it's just a recreational activity but to others it's the end-all be-all to a fulfilling life. If you're in the latter camp and you have PSSD then sucks to be you.

IMO the worst side-effect is suicide and that's been on the warning labels since forever. Like I said, understand the risks. SSRIs aren't something to fuck around with.
