I was never in the military but even I am really skeptical that the chain of command is so afraid of being cancelled that they would let someone hit a supervisor officer and then let him double down in front of everyone. I imagine perhaps you could get away with it in private but as soon as you do it in front of everyone it becomes an abomination to the hierarchy.
