It's porn. It's less a social contagion and more so a bunch of feticists that are chasing the dragon so to speak egging each other on online.

COVID lockdowns just exasperated the situation since it removed everyone from "real life" for an extended period of time.

Dunno. I'm not sure why any fetishes exist. And I very much doubt you'll ever be able to figure out a singular cause.

I would expect that it is some kind of pavlovian response. There's some academic research on it. Blanchard I believe studied this specifically and coined the "autogynophilia" term.

Its existed in some form in the past but seems to have been limited. I actually don't think it's all that common, but it's common enough that we aren't talking about, one in a billion people, but maybe something like one in a thousand. After that I think it simply progresses much the way any kind of sex addiction, or addiction in general progresses.

Because in straight porn the woman is the object of desire and the man is just an appendage.

So even though porn seem very antiwoman if men watch too much it teaches them they have to be a woman to matter, get attention and love.

Plenty of men on saidit have clearly been infected with that mind virus but I bet not one will admit being a porn addict.

The solution: porn where the male body of the straight couple is the center of the attention. Awesome! Wait, they would consider it "gay" even when it's a straight couple, because it focuses on the man? Well, then these dipshits created the problem themselves.
