If you think about it, "Mermaids" is a hilariously apt name for a tranny organization. A sea creature that resembles a human woman but actually isn't. Drinks a potion to make her more womanlike for deceptive purposes.

Considering the Hans Christian Anderson mermaid story it is even more ironically named.

The little Mermaid wants to become a woman so she can marry the prince she fell in love with, so she completely abandons here life an her family to go see a witch that gives here a janky ass human potion that makes her look human but her legs are always in constant antagonizing pain. So she goes to marry the prince only to find he is in love with someone else entirely, and long story short, she kills herself.

I really can't believe they chose this name for their organization. Goes to show you how deeply they think things through.

Not to mention, in the Disney version she literally signs over her voice to a lesbian drag queen. She SIGNS OVER HER VOICE to others. You literally cannot get a more apt metaphor for what has been going on to youth.

"Mermaids" is a hilariously apt name for a tranny organization.

Because mermaids are fictional products of the human imagination and don't really exist?

Mermaids launched the legal action arguing that the LGB Alliance should be stripped of its charitable status, alleging the organisation is merely a front for transphobia and political campaigning to prevent changes on gender self-identification in the law. The two charities fundamentally disagree on issues of trans rights, with the LGB Alliance taking the view that people cannot change their biological sex while Mermaids argue they can.

Today's judgment found in LGB Alliance's favour and said: 'We found Mermaids has no legal right to operate free of criticism.'

LGB Alliance director Kate Harris called it a 'vanity project' by Mermaids and LGB's co-founder Bev Jackson said today that the case had cost them £250,000, calling it a 'victory for everybody in the UK', a 'civilised society' and 'freedom of thought'.

She said: 'Why on earth was this necessary? How can this happen that we find ourselves in court having to defend, for instance, what a lesbian is. When everyone knows what a lesbian is. It is extraordinary all the money we have spent in order to defend our existence as the only charity that stands up exclusively for people who are attracted to others of the same sex.

Separately, a Charity Commission inquiry into Mermaids - opened in December last year after new concerns were identified about the organisation's governance and management - is ongoing.

Perhaps someone from the UK can explain, but i don't even understand how mermaids has the ability to try and use the court to revoke the charity status of a different organization. Courts in the US usually are obsessed about "standing". Basically the person bringing a case needs to prove they are harmed. The article here makes it appear that mermaids had no standing but the LGB alliance was still dragged through the courts.

I say the US courts "usually" care about standing because lately everything is being politicized and the SCOTUS just issued a ruling on student loans despite there being no standing. The claim of standing was on behalf of the student loan company which explicitly said it didn't want to be part of the case and somehow the court just allowed it. I guess standing is only an issue when the judges are ideologically opposed to the case.

The case was to determine whether or not they even had standing, since there's not really a precedent for a charity trying to strip another of its status. The case was actually Mermaids (and LGBT Consortium) vs The Charity Commission and LGB Alliance

The process is the punishment. The LGB Alliance now has £250,000 less with which to advocate for their cause.

To be cynical, if the leaders are lawyers then they will have paid themselves a large amount of that money. Or maybe they are quoting what they would have charged.

An unsurprising court action from a bunch of weak kneed fragile girly men.

Mermaids is all about children, run by a Munchausen mummy who castrated her own son, to support other Munchausen mummies and teenage girls wanting to join the cool kids with the mastectomy recovery photos on instagram.

Mermaids was instrumental in turning the Tavistock Clinic into the Mengelian nightmare it became.

I stand corrected. Nothing worse than a parent who mutilated their own child for internet points.

Sure there is. THIS lady wanted to encourage other's to do the same and to actively shame and vilify people who don't.

I think that's even worse than doing it to your own family.

Upvote for the use of the word "Mengelian". Very apt.

So queers are arguing with other queers over who is the queerest of them all? It sounds like a fractured fairytale.
