Looks like the author limited who can view the tweet now, but she was talking about getting a double mastectomy on the 17th and pretty much everyone was cheering her on.

I really wonder if this stuff would happen if there wasn't social media. I can't fathom how anyone would think a mastectomy is desirable unless you've got a load of people praising you for how brave you are for doing it.

It was similar with breast cancer reactions I've seen. Yes by all means in that case get one, I hope you get well soon, but I'm not going around waving pink ribbons for breast cancer awareness or praising you like you are a reluctant child for getting medical treatment done you'd die without.
