One: Never take a Gender Studies class or any class taught by a woke nutjob.

Two: As a former academic myself, I ran a Google Scholar search. I can't find any publications or citations for this person. Maybe she changed her name? Don't see any listing of her CV or PhD.

Some colleges require a Gender Studies (or, at the very least, classes from a department in which Gender Studies is an available option) course for graduation. It's insane.

I think only a Masters is required for university teaching positions, and it says she is only an adjunct professor. Perhaps gender studies is less rigorous in their requirements, I don't know

all the "studies" departments are just op-ed pages with tenure: the standard of evidence is "You were mean to Us 300 or 700 years ago, and all of You are gonna PAY now," "everyone knows that--" or "personal experience"

history makes you show your shit, and show you know what everyone else has already written on said poop: there's little room for "we were Greeks and Egyptians and Caribs and Ainu and Aborigines and--" (some might cite "Old English" departments attacking anyone still using "Anglo-Saxon," but that's language studies, another discipline notorious for playing radical, like geography (lolwut))

Yes, I've had people who are supposedly Linguistics majors explain pronoun issues to me in a way that I know is factually incorrect, and when I correct them, they don't respond.

True. Universities can hire adjuncts with any requirement they want. I was just curious as to this person's qualifications -- or lack thereof.

I'm guessing not much in the way of qualifications...I wonder if what is happening here is the rapid rise of woke ideology has created a high 'demand' situation for these types of classes. There is also a flood of demand for these woke degreed people from corporations to fill the new 'DEI' positions they are creating. It may be that Universities are settling for lower quality candidates due to an increased demand for people with qualifications in woke related studies

DEI's one of those "creates its own demand" fields--someone with a BA in DEI has absolutely no skills other than telling others what they were told in DEI (like, it doesn't count as one of the humanities, since they can't compare poems or explain past or present events, all they can actually do is find a way to complain about a majority group for something it did a century or four ago, they're hoteps without the clean living or Balkan ultranationalists without the moustaches and giant balalaikas)

so even with chemists and archeologists and historians struggling for real work DEI took its natural position in corporate and academic HR--flacks, flunkies, hall monitors, dancing poodles--they're not even bureaucrats
