The linked article because the twitter link isn’t working.

The reason they’re trying to obscure the research that they’re basing their treatment guidelines on is that the research is pretty ropey as was found when people started to look into the Tavistock Clinic, it’s so bad that multiple European countries are now dropping medical interventions from paediatric treatment entirely, much to the chagrin of the Troon lobby.

The Tavistock one was fucking horrific and everyone involved should be investigated tbh.

It was so sad to read about the girl who was recommended for the medical pathway where the evidence for her being trans was hating periods and liking Thomas the tank engine. Then you get to the part where she stopped feeling trans when she stopped being bullied for being Lesbian and it raises a lot of questions.

Yeah, they, that is the Tavistock Clinic’s directors, are currently desperately trying to hide the amount of influence that Mermaids had at Tavistock because the suspicion is that the clinic was basically allowing Mermaids, headed by Mummy Munchausen’s Susie Green, to write their protocols.

Ah yes. Let the nutjob that took her underage kid abroad write the protocol. No way THAT could go wrong.

They need to be torn apart completely and all of these toxic elements need a light shone on them so it can't be repeated. Who the hell thinks it's a good idea to let people that biased have a level of control. The more I hear about Tavistock the more appalling it becomes.

The Tavistock was never like that before, as I understand it for the majority of its existence it operated a watchful waiting policy with kids, who were almost entirely young boys with gender dysphoria that resolved during puberty. It was only when the activists got involved that things changed, they indoctrinated the staff and the patients changed and began to demand immediate medical intervention instead of watchful waiting.

I’m interested to see what comes out now that it’s being shut down and what safeguards are going to be put in place for the two clinics they’re opening to replace Tavistock.

they literally redefined dysphoria and the process of aging itself as socially-imposed violence unless you pumped in the Lupron

and you can see how much of this depends on personnel: the ACLU went from the ever-critical "mighty Ira" Glasser to basically a DNC arm featuring people like Amber Heard or Chase Strangio

The ACLU thing really makes me sad.

yeah, the old ACLU could identify a culture-war wedge issue when it saw one, and even talk to both sides of the argument to make them realize that their views are being deliberately limited to provide fodder for heartless politicians: as the saying goes, even if you disagreed with their position, they still had principles

historians will see Trump as important not because of what he did but because of how people's brains popped--even before 2016 the "liberals" wanted WWIII with Russia and opposed due process and "freeze peach"

the new one sues schools over A Charlie Brown Christmas and says there can BE no debate on certain issues: they bend like a rubber plant on even Black or trans issues if it benefits the establishment Democrat running this year, it's selling your soul for the likes of Rahm Emmanuel or Andrew Cuomo

The ACLU fought for the right for the KKK to march in the streets. The new ACLU thinks people should go to jail for pronoun wrongthink.

Like I don't object to wait it out, get them therapy and talk them through it and if it's not resolving when they're done with puberty getting them the treatment they need. I do object to the huge spike in girls as well as the push towards "treat right now or it's your fault this kid killed themselves"

We'll see what the report says but I really hope the new clinics take it much slower and actually talk through the issues with these kids. It was so sad to read how fast some of them would be put on a medical pathway and if you look at the Bell case 3 1 hour sessions is nowhere neat enough to determine anything and there's something incredibly depressing about her statement that some pushback would've kept her off a medical pathway and actually allowed her to consider her position properly. Now whether that's actually the case or if she would've got the people sacked for questioning her if they did is another matter but it really raises a major question about how much people are talking to them.

I think what happened is the changing of the guard got a bunch of kids coming in that were essentially radicalized by the internet driving policy and the older people had bo clue about what was happening online and got blindsided.

definitely think it comes back down to "collegization" of politics: you're "supposed" to use college to find a cause and protest it (preferably something that doesn't require commitment longer than your presumed 4-year stay, or too far from campus, or that directly criticizes that nice smiley mixed-race guy giving $13T to the mortgage fraudsters and cremating Yemen, but looks good on a application essay)

one of the biggest teaching problems the TAs face (themselves mid-20s) is all these 18-21yo undergrads just sitting like carrion vultures READING their face after they ask a rhetorical question--the students don't want to give the CORRECT answer, what they want to say out loud is the GOOD answer, one that won’t make the TA (someone who's actually enthusiastic or at least knowledgeable about the subject) puncture their psyche by making a counterproposal and (unintentionally) fillet what just you said in front of 10-30 other young adults your age--it's just genuinely embarrassing

so this college attitude carries into the real world--that certain answers get A's while others only get B's, that there's a Title IX department or a Filipino-American house or a Rainbow Center ready to take up your cause for you and bring along 20 very outraged people

so the Boomers are sitting there and a bunch of student activists pour in and say "we DEMAND all women be believed!" and the admins are all "oh, yes, of COURSE, your cause is noble and couldn't possibly contradicting any other one because you're on the side of Good!" and next week a different bunch of students pour in and say "we DEMAND all the falsely-accused by released and compensated!" and the admins go "but of COURSE, your cause is noble and ..."

Unfortunately a number of the clinicians previously employed at the Tavistock are also involved in setting up the new services.

The bottom line for them is maintaining their uninhibited access to hormones and surgeries. They're scared we'll take away their "titty skittles" next so they're willing to throw kids under the bus to keep them, even if it's obviously fucked up what's happening to kids with this lunacy. Typical tranny shit, me me me.

Troons don't care about health, they just want power. Anything to legitimize their delusions.

The main thing that springs out to me is their own lack of faith in the research they put forward as the reason for their position. Hell even they are right (and I don't think they are) hiding this only weakens their position.
