Of course back then being against the vietnam war was similar to being communist in the 50s where the mcarthists would come for you but they went too far, the rich don't want true red blooded anti communist conservatives being in charge either, they might get guillotined by them too. They want both sides constantly fighting with a 50-50% split about of power and no one guillotining them. But the conservatives don't organize so won;t be the ones to win in the end.
