You never pass as the other gender if you don't do something about it before puberty. As this leads to less trans identifying people, some see it as the same as killing transgender people, and that's often also conflated with a distortion of the violence trans identifying people encounter.

The typical reddit argument would be to link to one shooting to support the genocide idea.

It's propaganda, it doesn't have to be logical, it just has to be appealing to some.
