The issue of gender ideology has made for very stranger bedfellows. Walsh is a true theocratic nutjob. He thinks porn should be banned, life begins the second a sperm fertilizes an egg, gay marriage should be abolished, etc.
JK Rowling, as well as many other mainstream feminists, took a hard look at Walsh to gauge whether they could partner with him on the issue of gender ideology. They came to the conclusion that it's good what's he's doing with the documentary that he made, but otherwise he's as much of a theocratic loon as Pat Robertson.

And that's pretty much where I'm at. He's charming, fairly good looking, an excellent speaker, and has a good presence on screen. But around 75% of his beliefs are too extreme for me.

A lot of UK Feminists were angry they weren’t interviewed for his film. The Triggernometry interview with Walsh went into it a little and he admitted that he didn’t include them because of being parochial and not knowing about them and not deliberately excluding them as he was accused of doing.
