How did this movie even cost almost $200m in the first place? It looks awful. Not even in terms of story or whatever, aesthetically, artistically it looks awful. It's got that weird art style where the women sort of look like women, though still with weirdly exaggerated mouths, but the men don't even look like people, because they all have weird bulb noses.

Movies are expensive to make. Money doesn't exactly equate to talent. They likely spend loads of it on ancillary positions like diversity officers and what not, but more normally they need to have people do the backgrounds and render the cgi and what not. 200 million doesn't really seem like that much to a big company like Disney to me.
