Saw this at an art gallery in Rochester, NY. Oh come on!! Very few people of any race could afford painted portraits in the early 19th century.

If blacks wanted their history recorded they should've invented the written word and languages capable of expressing concepts like "past," "future," "promise," "sacrifice," and a numerical system that wasn't just "none, one, two, many."
