Trans people make up 0.03% to 0.06% of the U.S population.Why is society so obsessed with talking about these people?

I think a lot of it is guilt tripping. Like there’s this huge fucking narrative of “if you aren’t validating a trans person every minute of every day they will LITERALLY kill themselves!! Especially the kid ones!!” And I think that’s enough to spurn people to care enough to make it stop.

Especially the kid ones? That doesn't make any sense, they don't have to deal with the effects of puberty and are basically androgynous.
