That argument always leaves out the crucial difference: One of them is supposed to be able to do it. An oven is for heat, a fridge is for making things cold and can't heat things. An oven that's broken down doesn't become a fridge, nor does it mean fridges can be ovens, just because a broken down oven and a fridge share the quality of not being able to heat things.
