Could stop them speaking.

Could stop them breathing.

Either would be a tragedy for the patients

and a net gain for the rest of us

Bruh. Shave your adams apple to try and pass? After only spending ten years and a couple million dollars on surgeries and a couple hundred thousand on medicine, congratulations, you're not a woman still! This whole industry should be banned.

Literally none of these surgeries do much. At the end of it, as you say you're still not going to be a woman. Now you're a man with a bunch of complications from surgery.

“Mendelsohn said many transgender people fear going about the activities of daily life due to the threat of being ‘clocked,’ or being identified as a trans person by others, against their wishes,” the university stated.

“When we live in fear, that’s really no life at all,” the UCLA surgeon stated. “With this original approach, we have the opportunity to surgically treat fear, and that’s an incredibly rewarding aspect of the work we do.”

Yeah how terribly oppressive to be seen as just another straight white man.

Besides, judging by the number of AGPs who seem to be coming out of the woodwork in my city, they aren't living in fear. I saw a jacked dude in a string bikini buying beer. Didn't look like he was afraid of being clocked. These men get off on being seen.

Anyway, this article is light on details about this particular surgery. Samantha Lux did a video essay on his complications from his tracheal shave, and they were greatly disturbing. He now has chronic pain and disability. Don't fuck with functional parts of your body for funsies, folx.

He now has chronic pain and disability.

In defense, though, the Venn diagram of "people getting cosmetic gender-affirming surgeries" and "people who are LOOKING for a reason to claim chronic pain and disability and will make one up if they have to" is a circle.

transgender people fear going about the activities of daily life due to the threat of being ‘clocked,’

Yeah that's a common fear held by people living a lie. Good news is that fear goes away if you stop trying to deceive people.

That goes for so many of these surgeries. Hell I remember Remilia from the league of legends scene years ago having really botched surgery. Quote from an article on it: "entire pelvic area riddled with with permanent numbness and intense nerve damage."

That's no way to live.

The more this insanity is normalized, the more of these damaging, expensive cosmetic surgeries will be rolled out, taking advantage of people who think they can ever achieve the impossible.

I mean I dislike cosmetic surgery anyway (have you seen how dangerous BBL's are?) the whole industry creeps me the hell out. I get that some of it can be good for mental health if you really idk hate your nose or w/e but these feel like they're being far too accessible. People die from minor surgeries going wrong. People can get addicted to it to try and look 'perfect'. It just feels like good chunk of people could benefit from proper therapy and body acceptance than changing it, then latching on to the next body part that's 'wrong' rather than fixing the issue in the mind.

They fought hard against girls having body issues because of skinny women who modeled and replaced it with mental patients having body issues because of tranny 'women' who're coddled.

Honestly, body positivity wasn't a bad thing initially. It just got taken over by loons. I do think the message of it is something young people (men and women) need to hear. Like there's nothing wrong with having a slightly odd nose or a prosthetic.

Now the message seems to be "change it change it change it and we'll charge you! Look how you want right now" I really think it's damaging to mental health. Not to mention physical health when things go wrong (or even when things go right) only to be told "the next one will fix it". We're supposed to AVOID that attitude ffs. Especially when it's minors having major surgeries. That's a hard no from me considering the amount of people that desist it just seems way better to wait for adulthood (preferably 25 for the brain to have settled into adulthood, but that's me living in a fantasy land)

Look how you want right now

Yup, Pharma companies don't make any profit off of "take a few years to learn to like the person you are". Happy people spend a lot less money trying to distract themselves than damaged ones do.

What will it change? There's still plethora of other issues. Ultimate being your dangling or pushed in ding-dongs.

And even if you somehow get rid of all those issues and your "pussy" looks pristine, I'll still nope out the moment I learn you're male. And I will learn sooner or later.

Many people will either drag you to court or to a coffin.

I mean they should really warn about all the surgeries. None of them seem to come out well and anyone that thinks theirs has is just...lying to themselves.

[–]TotoroDeams 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Honestly, at this point create waivers, stating very clearly that any surgery they request COULD kill them or alter / hinder their life or ability to function and if they sign, let em get mutilated. They die, oh well, they were informed and signed a waver, with a notary public and another witness to ensure they are properly informed. Even add a video recording of the consent and risk conversation for court. Either they stop requesting stupid ass surgery or the pool of TRA shrinks.

also, I think there needs to be regulations, such as living as your gender for 2 years, while receiving weekly psychological appointments and treatment. Then applying for a license which would allow transition by transferring you to the other gender legally. Then you can apply for surgeries which take a year of psychological treatment to ensure you want said surgery, each time you get surgery for gender reassignment stuff.

Thus, each such procedure puts the patient at risk of complications in an effort to affirm the impossible

You can’t convince me that the doctors pushing for these surgeries aren’t closet eugenicists

[–]SneakyBishop[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Think there is some truth to that. If the goal is to reduce the population, why not reduce the population and make money? Just gross.
