I never liked political correctness. This furthers my belief that it was always a slippery slope. Those who seek to control language in order to wield power never stop seeking control. 'Progress' can never be final.

A few points:

  • homosexuality has been erased
  • are we actually 'misgendering' everyone now by default? Erasing sex from the discipline in which it matters most?
  • Honorifics and salutations are a traditional sign of respect. I'm not old, but even I cringe at some bank clerk addressing me by my first name as though we're friends. It's business. Also, how does this work when you don't know the person's name?
