They don't, there's constantly a crisis about boys underperforming at school and not getting into college.

Many studies have confirmed this is entirely due to grading bias by teachers.

Girls tend to be more studious, at least till they discover boys, and the average female is smarter than the average male. But men dominate both extremes of the intelligence curve, there are about 2.5 high IQ men for every high IQ woman.
