He makes a lot of good points. I was a lifelong fan and was so excited when Capaldi came on board (The Thick of It is an all time classic) and really enjoyed it at the start but then it started to feel like something was missing and I began losing interest. Then with The Mistress they began telegraphing and shoehorning the Doctor changing to a woman, and I faded hard on it. Not because I don't think The Doctor can't be a woman yadda yadda yadda, but because the decision was clearly being made to to appease the politics of the time, and not for the betterment of the story and canon. Listening to this vid makes me kinda glad I've never watched any Whittaker episodes. It sounds like I would have only been disappointed with a series that has continued to move away from what used to make it great.
