This isn't really true. Sex is binary, secondary sex characterists in some cases fall into a bimodal distribution (like height for instance). "Bimodal" seems to be the 'motte' in the motte and bailey defense when the sex is a spectrum BS didn't really take off. Sex determination is completely different from secondary sex characteristics.
