I saw your post (via questioning covid) and thought I’d respond. I don’t really know anyone in the group, and since you brought up ‘poor communication’, I’ll tell you what happened. It’s no big deal but still …

I took a bundle of Drudgers and hit the Ford City businesses. The store owners were all really great (except one store), and were happy to carry small piles of Drudgers in their stores/restaurant/bar. The ppl I talked to didn’t know about Stand-up Windsor, or Chris Sky, or about any of the rallies by the river.

Anyway, 2 storeowners (Kat from Pretty Baked and possibly Michael from Reclaimed Artistry) were interested in speaking at the rally on Sept 18. They would be strong community voices and offer a collective support. Since I don’t know how you set speakers up, I told them I’d get back to them with info. I sent messages to Currie (I didn’t know who else to contact) in different ways, mentioning their names and could they speak. I never got a response. I know things are super busy and my mssgs probably got buried by the hundreds of others, but I felt bad about not being able to get back to Kat and Michael with an answer.

In the end, I don’t know if Kat or Michael got a spot, because I had to go out of town the day of the rally. But I agree, having small communities like Ford City Business join the movement is a good thing, and so’s good communication.

About me: I moved to Windsor a few months ago and have been to several of your rallies, which are great. My father was Eastern European, he escaped Communism, and I have a book out on Stalin, so, I’ve been pretty stressed out over all this for some time. Emma

Hi Eno/Emma!

I'm glad to see another Windsorite here.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I've been having technical issues with my SaidIt messages this month, and only just discovered they weren't all resolved. So I have to discover responses to my posts manually for this month. Any responses to my comments (like this one) will go direct to my messages.

I sent messages to Currie [...] I never got a response.

Sorry to hear that. She's not only overwhelmed and not delegating well, she may pre-judge your activism. IMO, we need to welcome all voices and have all voices weigh in on what is or is not acceptable in general for our groups. Some of us are working on better flexible frameworks.

and have been to several of your rallies, which are great.

Please find me (I'm hard to miss) and we can talk to Currie and find some solutions for you and the Ford City Businesses.

I live at Riverside and Pillette and I walk down Riverside to Oullette when I have no gear for the rallies, past Ford City. Tomorrow and maybe Thursday I'll be helping Don, Ted, and Donna clean up at 1629 Drouillard, further down from your friends.

Hi Jason, Thanks a lot for your response. I’m really stressed over Build Back Better but I’m no activist, so nothing to prejudge there. LOL.

Since I live in Ford City, I thought I’d pass around copies of Druthers to the businesses. Then it turned out some ppl were interested in speaking. It would be great if there was a way for them to contact you for info. (One person mssged your website but got no answer.)

If I go back out, it would be good to have a contact number to give out.

I may come to the rally Saturday. If I do, I’ll look for you to say hi.

Thx again!

Hi Jason, I don't really use SaidIt. There's something I'd like to ask you. Can I private mssg you somehow? - FB? Email? Thx. Emma.
